It was a record setting season for Allendale’s Track Team, culminating in another City Championship. Allendale handily won the Tier 2 city title, with McKernan finishing second, Kenilworth third, and Crestwood fourth.
Allendale sent 37 athletes to the city championships, the largest contingent to ever represent our school. Ten medals were won by our students, also an Allendale record.

After months of “hard work” Allendale's "History Happens" is a featured podcast on iTunes Education K-12 podcast section. For those that are unfamiliar with the itunes interface it is one of the most popular ways of searching and accessing podcasts. iTunes has a directory for education that allows you to browse through content, and it also has search capability. New content is always being added, and most often podcasts are free. The iTunes Store currently has more than 150,000 podcasts listed. David Bissett has been at our school twice for pre-Olympic assemblies. On Thursday, April22, he is coming back to Allendale to show off his bronze medal that he won in the 4 man bobsleigh competition in this year’s winter Olympics. There will be an opportunity for students to have their pictures taken with David. |

Edmontonians Viviane Forest and Kirk Schornstein were among a group of 16 racers named to Canada’ s ski team today for the 2010 Paralympic Games, which begin this weekend in Whistler, B.C.
It will be Forest’s third Paralympics but her first Winter Games. She won gold medals as a member of Canada’s goalball team in the 2000 and 2004 Summer Paralympics. The 17-year-old Schornstein is the youngster on the team, starting out with para-Alpine skiing this winter.
Forest was the 2009 overall World Cup champion in the visually impaired category and this year’s slalom champion and could be on the podium in all five of her events in Whistler.
